12% to 27% turn out for Nice
Reports from returning officers indicate that polling stations are getting busier. Estimates now place voters registering at between 12% to 27%.
Returning officers were giving figures received after 3pm.
In Wicklow, turn out is good with just over 20% of voters arriving at polling booths.
In Westmeath, the returning officer says that 20% of voters are turning out since 4pm.
In Donegal, however, there are still very few coming out at the moment. Reports there indicate that only 13% have arrived at stations.
In Louth, voting is strong with a 27% turnout.
The only records for Galway indicate that 8 to 10% of voters had arrived at stations by 1pm.
Returning officers at local polling stations nationwide predict that voter numbers will pick up after 6pm when the majority of people are expected to vote.
