Gardai investigate death of man in jail
Gardai and prison authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at Castlereagh Jail, Co Roscommon.
Gardai were alerted to the death shortly before lunchtime today.
It is understood the prisoner, whose name has not yet been released, was a 22-year-old remand prisoner from Dublin, who was awaiting trial.
The man's body has been removed to Roscommon County hospital, where State Pathologist, Prof. John Harbison, is carrying out a post mortem.
Foul play is not suspected.
