The people who died in road accidents in the last 24 hours have been named by gardai.

Motorcyclist Liam McCallon died after a fatal accident in Lower Rathmines Road in Dublin at 6pm yesterday evening.

His motorcycle collided with a car.

The 18-year-old man was from Clonmore Park in Tallaght.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run in Co Monaghan has been named.

16-year-old Emma Markey died at 3am today when she was hit by a vehicle.

The victim was from Braddocks in Co Monaghan.

Gardai are still questioning a man in connection with the fatal hit-and-run.
