Britain to purchase six water cannons for use in the North

The British Government’s Security Minister for the North has announced plans to purchase six water cannons to help police fight rioters.

Professor Desmond Rea, the chairman of the policing board, welcomed the announcement, saying that borrowed water cannons have been successfully used to quell violence in Belfast and Drumcree this summer.
