Boy's body taken from river in Sligo

Gardaí in Co Sligo are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a four-year-old boy whose body was recovered from the Garravogue River last night.

The body was taken from the water at Fish Quay in Sligo town at around 9pm.

Technical experts and officials from the state pathologist’s office are due to examine the scene today.

The dead boy’s name has not been released.
