A major protest against Israeli conduct in the Middle East will take place in Dublin City later today.

'Alliance for Palestine' Group to hold protest in Dublin

A major protest against Israeli conduct in the Middle East will take place in Dublin City later today.

The "Alliance for Palestine" Group will gather at the Central Bank at 1pm.

The Alliance is made up of a coalition of human rights and community groups, political parties and non-government organisations.

Among those speaking at the protest today will be John Gormley of the Green Party, Joe Higgins of the Socialist Party and Senator’s Joe Costello and Mick Lanegan.

The group are due to address their "outrage at Ariel Sharon’s Government".

Tom Hyland, a human rights activist with the East Timor solidarity group, says it will be biggest support for the Palestinian people ever experienced in this country.
