The firm says it is restructuring its manufacturing operations and is also closing factories.

The group is planning to close its Cadena cigar operations in Tallow, Co Wateford, with the loss of 68 jobs.

It also plans to move its John Player & Sons cigarette factory in Dublin - cutting 45 jobs - to a new factory in West Dublin.

The company will also transfer processing of Golden Virginia tobacco from Liverpool to Mullingar.

Gareth Davis, chief executive, said: "This restructuring is a further step in our plans to continue growing a sustainable, international business through maintaining the competitive advantage of our high-quality, efficient manufacturing and logistics operation."
