GAA says consultation process will take time
The President of the GAA is warning that the process of consultation within the association over policing in Northern Ireland will take some time to complete.
Sean McCague is asking all political parties and interests to give the GAA the necessary time to deliberate and to desist from unhelpful comment or interference.
The GAA has been under recent pressure to react to police reforms by lifting Rule 21, the so-called ban on RUC officers playing gaelic games.
Mr McCague has condemned the ongoing campaign of violence and pipe bombs attacks against clubs in the north, saying the organisation will not be put off by such activities.
Mr McCague added that the matter would eventually be referred to the Ruling Central Council after members have deliberated on the issue.
