Gardai continue arms search in Donegal
Gardai are continuing to carry out searches after the discovery yesterday of a cache of arms and explosives in Lifford in Co Donegal.
The search is being concentrated on a wooded area at Porthall.
So far, up to 100 pounds of home-made explosives, two handguns, 100 rounds of ammunition, timing devices, a detonator and cortex wire have all been recovered in the search.
The finds are the latest blow to dissident republican groups in recent weeks after recent garda investigations have recovered weapons and revealed training grounds.
There are reports that the Real IRA group are trying to establish if there is a mole in their ranks who is leaking information to the Gardai in the wake of the recent discoveries.
