Two shot in paramilitary-style attacks

Two men were today being treated for bullet wounds while another suffered broken limbs following the latest round of paramilitary-style attacks in Northern Ireland.

A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after being shot in the leg and hands in east Belfast.

The attack happened last night at Millford Drive in the Tullycarnet area of the city.

Earlier, a gang of up to four men burst into a house at Glenwood Green, Poleglass, west Belfast and chased the male occupant.

After catching him in nearby Glenwood Crescent, the victim was caught and shot in each ankle.

Meanwhile, a man in his 40s is being treated for a broken arm and leg after he was attacked by a gang wielding iron bars in Lisburn, Co Antrim.

The masked assailants forced their way into a flat at Maralin Avenue before beating the victim and smashing a television and furniture in the living room.

Detectives investigating all three attacks have appealed for information.
