High Court told that Foley turned down probe offer
The High Court has heard how the CEO of Aer Lingus, Michael Foley, turned down the opportunity to investigate the complaints that were made against
them.
Senior Counsel for Aer Lingus, Paul Gallagher has spent the afternoon refuting the claims from Mr Foley's legal team that he was the victim of a conspiracy within the state airline.
Mr Justice Carroll heard how Mr Foley was offered the opportunity to appeal the findings of the internal investigation but turned it down.
Mr Gallagher said that there was no evidence of the supposed conspiracy being carried out against Mr Foley and urged the Court to lift the injunction against Aer
Lingus.
Michael Foley was allegedly involved in two cases of sexual harassment with work colleagues and when these allegations were confirmed by an internal inquiry, Mr Foley was told not to show up for work the next day.
Justice Carroll is expected to rule later this evening on the injunction placed by Mr Foley against Aer Lingus carrying out disciplinary proceedings against
him.
