Child airlifted to hospital following road traffic collision in Clare 

The child has been transferred to Crumlin Children's Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be serious.

A child was airlifted to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a road traffic collision in Clare on Monday evening.

Gardaí are investigating the collision involving the child who was on a bicycle and a tractor.

The incident occurred at approximately 6pm on Monday on the L8192 Bealkelly in Ogonnelloe, Co Clare. 

"The juvenile sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Galway University Hospital before being transferred to Crumlin Children's Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be serious," a garda spokesperson said. 

A full forensic examination of the scene has since been completed, and the road has been reopened.
