Three road accident deaths in the North

An elderly man has died after he was struck by a car in Co Tyrone.

The 60-year-old man was hit by a taxi, while he was walking along the road near Strabane just after 2.30am.

It was the second road death to occur in the north overnight.

A woman was killed in a crash in the Castle Rock area of Derry at 1am. A second person was injured in that accident.

Another taxi was involved in the death of a 23-year-old man on the Warrenpoint dual carriageway near Newry.

The man was hit by the taxi shortly before 4am.
