Army bomb squad explode grenade

Army bomb disposal experts have destroyed a hand grenade found on a West Cork football pitch.

The live Mills hand grenade, which dated from the War of Independence, was described as "very volatile" by the bomb squad.

It was discovered by a child on a football pitch in the West Cork village of Goleen.
