Belfast hospital sets up counselling service

The The Royal Victoria hospital in Belfast has set up a counselling service after it was confirmed that the organs of dead children were kept there without their parents’ knowledge.

The hospital is currently storing the organs of 361 babies, which were removed over a 50-year period.

It admitted it did not ask the permission of parents until 1999 and has been accused of arrogance by patient groups in the North.
