Mandelson welcomes Adair ruling

The Northern Secretary Peter Mandelson has welcomed the ruling that will keep Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair behind bars.

Mr Mandelson said the ruling endorsed his judgement that Adair had breached his release conditions and that his continued imprisonment serves the interest of the entire community.

The Northern Secretary added that he would not hesitate to send others back to jail if they also engaged in paramilitary activities.
