Youth released on bail after alleged domestic violence

Gardaí objected to bail being granted to an 19-year-old because of the extent of the violence as he allegedly put his mother in fear at the family home on Sunday.

Radu Molnar, aged 19, was arrested by garda Chris Daly and charged with contravening a protection order by putting Daniella Balind in fear at the family home at 25 Innismore Square, Ballincollig, Co Cork, on July 3.

The charge sheet stated that Mr Molnar allegedly broke flowerpots, assaulted and threatened Ms Balind, and put her in fear for her safety and life by holding a kitchen knife during the alleged incident.
