Investigation continues into murder of man shot while cycling to work, inquest hears

Father-of-one John O'Regan (48) was shot up to six times with a handgun as he cycled his bike in Ballymun, north Dublin, on April 15 2014.
Gardai are conducting ongoing inquiries in relation to the killing, Detective Inspector Gus Keane told an inquest into Mr O’Regan’s death.
Det Insp Keane asked for a six month adjournment to allow for the criminal investigation to continue. The inquest first opened on June 23 2014.
It has been reported that Mr O' Regan’s killer was also on a bicycle when he fired a number of shots into his victim's torso in broad daylight.
The killer was wearing a baseball hat and a high viz jacket and cycled away from the scene on a footpath along Ballymun Road and Ballymun Avenue towards the city centre.
The handgun used in the murder was not recovered.
Mr O’Regan’s younger brother William was shot dead while watching television with his girlfriend in 2003.
The inquest was adjourned until Dec 6.
