Man denies indecently assaulting niece 30 years ago

A man went on trial yesterday on nine counts of indecently assaulting his niece when she was eight years old about 30 years ago.

She testified that he gave her biscuits and treats and allowed her to stay up and watch television afterwards.

The accused man totally denies all charges, and a jury of nine men and three women was sworn in yesterday to hear the case before Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
