Several county towns will host lifelong learning events this week as Cork showcases its status as a Unesco learning city during the 13th week-long Cork Lifelong Learning Festival.

Mallow and Cobh have announced plans to host their first lifelong learning festival events, but fringe events are also taking place in Midleton, Clonakilty, Skibbereen, and Beara.

Events in Midleton include historical walks and bee-keeping workshops, Clonakilty’s events will kick off on Inchydoney Strand, bird-box building workshops will take place in Skibbereen, while fish filleting, photography and chocolate-making classes will be on offer in Beara.
