At University College Cork tonight, University College Dublin professor of modern Irish history Diarmaid Ferriter will speak about 1916: New Perspectives, Old Rows.

Admission to the 7.30pm lecture in the Aula Maxima is free but on a first-come first-served basis for this, the first in a series of events organised by the Church of Ireland Diocese of Cork, Cloyne and Ross for the centenary year of 1916. Prof Ferriter's talk will be followed by responses from UCC historians John Borgonovo and professor emeritus John A Murphy.
