IRELAND

ESB to increase ‘spill’ of water from Parteen Weir as levels reach those seen during 2009 flooding. The lower Shannon between O’Brien’s Bridge and Limerick is bracing itself for potentially disastrous new flooding as the ESB confirmed it will have to increase the ‘spill’ of water from Parteen Weir.
