VIDEOS: Kodaline rock Spike Island with streamed gig
The unique set marked the first for Vodafone Ireland’s #4GLive Streamed Shows and tested Vodafone’s superfast 4G network, which has been created as part of the company’s €550m investment to bring a better voice and data experience to customers across Ireland.
So, as well as the 100 lucky Kodaline fans who were there to watch the boys doing what they do best, music lovers across the globe were able to share the #4GLive streamed front row experience through the band’s Twitter page.

With the event secretely-planned, things kicked off in true rock ‘n’ roll style when the quartet were flown onto the island via helicopter before walking through the crowd and launching into an intimate 20-minute set.
Despite the wind and rain, lead singer Steve Garrigan’s voice tore through the sky as they performed some of their old and new favourites like ‘High Hopes’ and ‘All I want.’

The rest of the band, lead guitarist, Mark Prendergast, bassist Jason Boland, and drummer Vinny May, were also on top form, chatting to fans and thanking them for coming out to welcome them.

It was the second time in less than a month Kodaline played in the Rebel county, after their sellout Live at the Marquee gig in June.
They also played Glastonbury, which Garrigan said was “an amazing experience.”
But, even with the ever-increasing world-wide acclaim for the four lads from Swords, nothing beats playing on home soil. They will play the Indiependence music festival, which runs from July 31 to August 2, in Park Mitchelstown.
