EU pays 216 Irish farmers over €100k
Department of Agriculture figures show a total of 216 farmers across the State were paid six-figure sums, including two farmers who received in excess of €300,000 last year. They were both from the south-east; Wexford and Kilkenny.
The identity of high-earning farmers along with details of their payments are due to be released before May 31 under new European Commission regulations in a move that has sparked anger among farming representative bodies.
