Marian Finucane ties the knot with long-term partner
The veteran broadcaster tied the knot at a registry office ceremony attended by friends and close family.
The RTÉ Radio 1 presenter wore a fedora-style hat and matching black coat over a purple-collared outfit, while her new husband sported a large red rose in the jacket of a black three-piece suit.
The couple have been together for decades, and have had two children; a 28-year-old son Jack and a daughter Sinéad, who died at the age of eight in 1990 after suffering with leukaemia.
In 2004, the pair appeared in a documentary about the hospice set up in South Africa by a charity they helped to found for children living with HIV and Aids.
Well-wishers yesterday sent messages of congratulations through Joe Duffy’s Liveline show, which Ms Finucane presented from 1985 to 1998, before moving to a weekday morning slot.
She took over her current Saturday and Sunday shows a decade ago.
Among those who wished the couple well on social media was former head of RTÉ radio, Helen Shaw.

Ms Finucane, who had a short-lived marriage in her 20s, previously said Mr Clarke was a terrific man.
“He works the land, he’s interested in horses. He specialises in slow ones is what he says,” she said.
