Drivers at Bus Éireann have demanded a meeting with company management to discuss their claim for a pay increase of at least 6%.

The demand comes less than two years after the members of the National Bus and Rail Union resorted to two days of strikes when the company attempted to introduce €5m worth of changes to workers’ terms and conditions.

At the time, in May 2013, the company warned its viability as well as its 2,500 jobs and 300 routes around the country were at risk.
