Voters should be offered a joint Fine Gael-Labour strategy going forward into the next general election, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan.

An agreed platform between the parties should be hammered out and offered to voters with a promise to build upon the economic progress already made, said Mr Flanagan.

Mr Flanagan, the first Fine Gael minister for foreign affairs since 1987, made the call as he attacked Fianna Fáil for courting auction politics and insisted that Sinn Féin could not be trusted.
