Government treating homeowners as idiots, claim opposition

The Government has been accused of treating homeowners as “idiots” by not revealing the full details of water charges due to be introduced later this year.

Fianna Fáil said the plans have “descended into a complete farce” after the Cabinet failed to reach agreement on the charges following a 90-minute discussion yesterday.

Fianna Fáil’s Barry Cowen said the Coalition had spent months “dodging questions” about how much homeowners will have to pay because they want to hide the facts before the May 23 local and European elections.
