1. Ukrainian riots:

At least 25 people have died and a further 240 injured in street battles in the Ukranian capital of Kiev — the deadliest day of violence yet since anti-government protests began.

2. Garda investigation:

Gardaí believe a child was systematically raped over the course of five years after her mother brought her to “drinking parties”. Seven people have been arrested.

3. Embattled Shatter:

Unease amongst members of the Cabinet over Justice Minister Alan Shatter’s handling of the GSOC bugging crisis has led to an “embarrassing climbdown” by the government over the need for an independent inquiry.

4. Drive-through convenience:
