50 new jobs announced at outsourcing firm

Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation Sean Sherlock is to announce another 50 new jobs at a business outsourcing company in Cork today.

This latest job announcement brings to 1,050 the number of jobs announced in Cork since Christmas.

The sales, customer service as well as ancillary finance and human resources posts will be at Zevas’ headquarters at Monahan Road in Cork.

The company, which provides business outsourcing services, was set up in 2003.

It already employs 200 people and provides business services in nine different languages. It is seeking native English speakers with a third-level education and strong IT skills.

CEO Con Lehane said business outsourcing is “thriving at the moment”.

On Friday, another 200 jobs were announced for the city by Taoiseach Enda Kenny. Global hedge fund administrator HedgeServ a will employ another 150 over the next several years. Up to 50 jobs were also announced at Westbourne IT Global Services.

Earlier in January, 500 jobs were announced by Tyco, 100 by BioMarin, 200 by Tyndall/Phototonics and 30 by Global Reviews.
