Online spending set to top €60m this year

The number of bargain hunters searching online for the best cut-price deals has almost doubled in just two years, with a massive €55mto €60m worth of virtual sales expected in 2013 alone.

Figures revealed by aggregation website mydealpage.ie show that, despite the risk involved in buying online, the approach is becoming increasingly popular in recession-era Ireland.

According to the research, in the first six months of this year €26.8m was spent online.
