Arctic Monkeys, Bjork to headline Electric Picnic

Tickets for the 10th anniversary festival, which runs from Aug 30 to Sept 1 in Stradbally, Co Laois, go on sale this Saturday at 9am. A full ticket costs €229.50 and a Sunday ticket costs €85.
The other acts confirmed for the three-day festival include: Franz Ferdinand, David Byrne and St Vincent, Eels, Noah & The Whale, Johnny Marr, and Disclosure.
Ocean Colour Scene, Hurts, Mick Flannery, The Walkmen, Baauer, Tiga, Warpaint, Savages, The Strypes, Policia, Chvrches; Parquet Courts, Clinic, Deap Vally, and Soak will also perform.
Electric Picnic is never just about the music and 2013 will be no different. The popular Body and Soul Village will return this year as will Mindfield, the Theatre of Food, and the Comedy Tent.
A new addition to the family- friendly festival will be the Trailer Park stage, which will pay homage to the great American mobile home, with its front porch, and part salute to the dubious memories of the caravan holiday.
A family ticket permits access for two adults and four children (under 12) with access to the family campsite and the walled gardens of Stradbally Hall.
With wallets being tightened as a result of the recession, organisers have also examined the issue of ticket prices.
This year, if festival-goers can prove they have attended a previous festival, the ticket price will be reduced to €169.50.
If they can prove they have been to three or more, the price falls even further to €149.50. These offers run until May 27.
“There are plenty of ways to show proof that you have attended the Picnic over the years to name but a few: old wristbands, ticket stubs, official programmes, photographs which indicate different years’ attendance, screen shots of social media showing messages, travel receipts to festival or accommodation receipt dated,” said a statement.
