Residents flooded for the second time in seven months have threatened to take their case to Europe in a bid to force the Government to act on flood prevention plans.

The move being considered by residents of Blackpool in Cork emerged last night as home and business owners counted the cost of the fourth major flood in their village core in a decade.

Furious residents, whose homes were swamped by up to four feet of water on Thursday night, said the time for reports is over — now it’s time for action.
