Buttimer overwhelmed by support

The lord mayor of Cork said he has been overwhelmed by messages of support since going public yesterday with his cancer diagnosis.

Cllr John Buttimer (FG) said he received a steady stream of phonecalls, messages, emails, and tweets to his city hall office and to his home from people wishing him well as he prepares to undergo treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
