195 staff to oversee property tax at specialist branch

Almost 200 staff will oversee the Government’s property tax at a unit to be known as the Local Property Tax Branch.

The 195 personnel, based at Revenue’s Ennis Tax Office, will be responsible for administering the self-assessed property tax, which comes into effect on Jul 1.

The office, which has been closed to the public, had been responsible for dealing with tax affairs of the Clare Revenue District but has been merged into the Limerick office.
