Martin: Bailout paper ‘figment of imagination’

The technical paper between the troika and the Government on promissory notes used to bail out Anglo is “a figment of the Taoiseach’s imagination”, according to Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin.

He said the paper has been talked about for 15 months and he has grown suspicious because Enda Kenny has not been able to answer questions on its status to the Dáil.

The Government indicated it is confident a deal can be reached on the promissory note structure before the next tranche of the €31bn burden is due in March.
