BALLISTIC tests on bullet casings discharged from a gun which the prosecution claims was brought from Southill in Limerick shortly after a shooting, matched those found near the home of the man accused of carrying out that shooting, Limerick Circuit Court heard.

Bullet casings matched in tests

Anthony Kelly, aged 50, of 121 O’Malley Park, Southill, Limerick pleaded not guilty to possessing a Glock pistol with intent to endanger life at Southill on October 28, 2009. The prosecution alleges Kelly shot and wounded Michael Lynch after a row involving Kelly’s daughter Jessica and Lynch’s mother.

Ballistics expert, Detective Garda Mark Collendar said in evidence yesterday that he carried out a test on a Glock pistol which was found in a garda search in Doon, Co Limerick.
