DJ Carey and Newman accuse AIB of ‘mistruths’

FORMER Kilkenny hurler DJ Carey and his partner, Sarah Newman, have accused AIB of peddling mistruths about them, as they last night claimed that they always “dealt proactively and professionally” with the bank, which is demanding €9.5 million from them.

The couple issued a statement last night in which they categorically denied they had failed to submit proposals to AIB regarding their outstanding liabilities to the bank.

“Detailed and comprehensive financial proposals, prepared by their financial advisors, were submitted to the bank on a number of occasions, most recently April of this year. Both Mr Carey and Ms Newman have dealt proactively and professionally with the bank and will continue to do so.
