THE Cliffs of Moher are set to become the stage for a major festival aimed at showcasing Irish dancing to a global audience.

Tourism Minister Michael Ring has confirmed that the cliffs will be the venue for “Lord of the Dance at the Edge of the World” on September 1 and 2.

The event, which will include performances from the Kilfenora Céilí Band and Finbar Fury, is expected to attract more than 5,000 people from Ireland, Britain, the US and further afield each evening, bringing up to €10 million into the local economy.
