Meeting over Tank Field plan

LOCAL residents opposing the use of part of the Tank Field on Cork’s northside for a school are to hold a public meeting next week.

The event, being jointly held by the residents’ associations of Murmont Avenue and Montenotte Park, follows the recent lodging of revised plans for a 16-classroom building for Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn.

The Department of Education application would see the portion of the 11-acre field, now in use as playing pitches by Brian Dillons GAA club, reduced slightly to two acres from what was previously proposed.
