Shatter says burning bondholders still a ‘possibility’

A GOVERNMENT minister has said the burning of bondholders in the banks is still a possibility despite Taoiseach Enda Kenny recently appearing to rule it out.

Justice Minister Alan Shatter said yesterday that banking stress tests to be publisheddetermine the position.

Asked if burden-sharing was off the table, he replied: “No... the result of that stress (testing) will be known at the end of the month.”
