OVERNIGHT engineering works began around two of Cork city’s busiest roundabouts last night as preparations continue for the construction of two flyovers.

However, there has been no commitment on funding from the National Roads Authority (NRA) yet for the construction of the flyovers on the Bandon and Sarsfield Road roundabouts.

Despite the absence of funding, engineers in Cork County Council are pressing ahead with all the advance works on the N25 south ring road.
