Web stardom for porn hurler

WEXFORD hurler Greg Jacob has become an internet phenomenon, being hailed as a legend for his off-field antics.

Web stardom for porn hurler

Over 3,000 people have joined a social website Facebook called “Greg Jacob, Wexford Hurler and Pornstar”, since news broke of his dalliance with English XXX porn actress Tanya Tate.

Created by John Furlong from Wexford Town, the page is described as: “An appreciation of what any young free and single man would do for a bit of fun. Fair play you ya, Greg, you’re a legend.”

It has emerged that Jacob, who togged off for Wexford intermediate hurlers in the provincial semi-final clash with neighbours Kilkenny last evening at Wexford Park, starred in three film scenes with Tate, who said he could have a porn career. Heappears in Tate’s Sex Tour of Ireland 1 and 2, as well as starring in a recent show shot in Britain.

Tanya Tate’s profile has been greatly boosted by the publicity generated by the sex scandal. Her agent confirmed that Jacob, who works at his father’s landscaping business in Davidstown, near Enniscorthy, was in London earlier in the month to shoot a scene with Tate. “He flew over to London and starred with Tanya in her own private casting show, which appears on her internet site. She was very impressed with him and recommended him to a number of agents,” he said.

Jacob, who was a member of Adult Friend Finder, a website used by people looking for no-strings sex, made no attempt to hide his taste for action, posting pictures of his face.

Efforts by senior GAA members in the county to have him banned from the game have been rebuffed by team manager and former Fianna Fáil TD Tony Dempsey, who said: “we are committed to playing Jacob.”

Sports mad Jacob was a member of the Wexford senior hurling squad until his injury earlier this year. He also played rugby with Carlow and signed for Old Wesley at the end of the season.

Wexford intermediate hurling manager Mr Dempsey is preparing to hand Jacob a key role in defence for the game.

“Greg will be handed the number six jersey and a centre-back role,” Mr Dempsey said. “I’m only interested in hurling and that’s the way I want to keep it.”

However, Mr Dempsey refused to comment on efforts by county officers to have Jacob omitted from the squad.

County officers had claimed that the Davidstown-Courtnacuddy players had brought disgrace on the association and had brought the GAA into disrepute.
