THE trial of two barmen charged with the manslaughter of a man who died from alcohol intoxication has been adjourned.

The trial – which is believed to be the first “liquor liability” case ever to be held in this country – could have massive implications for the Irish bar trade.

Judge Tom Teehan at Nenagh Circuit Court said the case would be put into the list for the next sessions of the court and granted a request from counsel acting for the two men that two additional counsel be appointed to the defence, due to the seriousness of the charges.
