Flash floods hit Limerick and Kerry

TWO units of Tralee Fire Brigade were yesterday called to Ardfert, Co Kerry to deal with flash floods, while Killarney Races was called off due to the inclement weather.

Flash floods hit Limerick and Kerry

In Co Limerick flooding was reported in Athea and Broadford, but according to Garda sources no roads were closed.

Following several hours of heavy rain, several roads were flooded throughout Kerry, but the village of Ardfert appeared to be the worst hit area. Kerry County Council also went to the village to help pump water off the main street and free water traps.
