Objections to Beara planning proposals

BEARA Chamber of Commerce and west Cork Irish Farmers Association (IFA) members will today hand in a submission to County Hall, objecting to Cork County Council’s proposals to adopt guidelines on housing in scenic areas.

Objections to Beara planning proposals

The council is proposing to designate the Beara peninsula as an area for Special Scenic Landscapes. The proposed measures increase local fears that it will make it even more difficult to build one-off houses in the region.

Michael O’Sullivan, who heads Beara Chamber of Commerce, claimed farmers would also find it increasingly difficult to build sheds and outhouses if the plan is adopted by the local authority.
