Bouncer fined €400 for assault outside club

A BOUNCER was fined €400 yesterday for assaulting a man after he was removed from his nightclub.

The assault victim, who is a close friend of a man who died after an incident at another nightclub in Cork in 2001, was also fined €100 for a public order offence arising out of the same incident.

Cork District Court heard yesterday how Damien O’Brien, 36, of 28 Farrancleary Place, Blackpool in Cork, had been removed from Mangan’s nightclub on Carey’s Lane three times on May 14, 2007 but tried to get back in on each occasion.
