92% say family is top priority, survey shows
The survey, carried out on Rollercoaster.ie, solicited the views of 430 people on what their priorities were when juggling their own work-life balance.
A massive 92% of people said family was more important to them than friends or finances â nobody rated their career as their primary concern.
Separately, 40% of respondents said they did not see their immediate family any more than twice a week.
However, the majority saw their immediate family every day.
In a separate question people were asked if they could free up time and resources what would they spend it on.
More than a third said they wanted to be with their families, 30% said a larger income would make things easier and 10% felt an improvement in local amenities would make their life better.
The survey was conducted on behalf of the upcoming Family Show, which is being held in the RDS, Dublin next month.
It was carried out through the family-advice website Rollercoaster which organisers said meant the figures could not be translated onto the wider population.
The show is a special event built around activities and advice for parents and children.
It will take place from June 13-15 and its organisers said it is designed to give ideas to parents about how to bring the best out of their children.
âYou might be thinking about getting the little ones interested in a new sport, or hobby â whether itâs little Dylan who needs to get started in a sport or Amy who wants to develop her artistic skills, they are sure to find lots of options at the show,â it said.
Ticket information is available at www.familyshow.ie.
