Tearful tribute at Dell for lost colleagues

HUNDREDS of Dell workers, many in tears, yesterday queued to sign a book of condolence at the Limerick plant for two work colleagues who died in a car crash when travelling to Saturday’s rugby international at Croke Park.

Sean O’Donoghue, 37 from Patrickswell, and William Quane, 34, from Clonlara, died instantly in a head-on collision with another car driven by Polish man David Dziemianowicz, 21 who, along with his Italian girlfriend, Marika Rossi, 24, were also killed.

Niall Furlong who was in Mr O’Donoghue’s car was seriously injured and is in a stable condition in the Midlands Hospital, Tullamore.

The collision occurred between Roscrea and Borris-in-Ossery at about 9.30am.

A large attendance was present for the removal of the remains of Mr Quanefrom Thompson’s funeral home last evening to Clonlara church.

Burial will take place after 11am requiem Mass this morning.

He is survived by his parents Frank and Evelyn; brothers, Declan and Anthony and sister Eileen.

Mr O’Donoghue’s removal will take place this evening from Thompson’s funeral home to Patrickswell parish church with burial tomorrow after 12.30 requiem Mass.

He is survived by his parents Patsy and Kathleen and sister, Catherine.
