Greens and PDs ‘passive accomplices in deception’

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny last night branded the Greens and PDs “passive accomplices in a great deception” over the controversy concerning the Taoiseach’s financial affairs.

He also defended his decision to issue a statement on Saturday amid Mr Ahern’s departure for a government trade mission to South Africa. Earlier, ministers criticised the timing of the attack insisting it ran against respected protocol to attack a Taoiseach on domestic issues when he is abroad on government business.

“I didn’t know where the Taoiseach was when I issued my statement on Saturday. It’s he who attacked me from South Africa,” he said.
